Refugees and immigrants arriving in the U.S. come with a wide variety of educational and linguistic backgrounds.  Some have no formal educational experience and come eager to learn basics like how to use a pencil and introduce themselves in English.  Others come with a high level of English and are able to assist with translation in our office. We partner with language learners of all ages as their confidence in speaking English grows. Our goal is to empower them to function and thrive in their new American context.

English Classes are offered at multiple levels for pre-literate to more advanced students, and are taught by our professional English teachers with assistance from volunteer classroom aides.

In-Home Tutoring Services are provided by trained volunteers who are matched with a student.  Tutors and students meet at the times they choose, and focus on expanding their classroom learning, as well a building a relationship.
